![]() ![]() At 11:47, Kelee Ringo picked off Bryce Young for a 79-yard return and a pick six, sealing the win for Georgia. As a sidenote, when followed by a roughing the passer call at 11:10, a Bama TD at 11:12, and a failed 2-pt conversion at 11:14, as someone rooting for Georgia I couldn't help but see this (maybe mild NSFW, not sure on the rules on that) in the rate as it came in.My program counted 385 comments in one 15-second period, or 25.7 comments/second: a comment every 39 milliseconds! However, it was itself eclipsed when the call stood after replay at 11:08. At 11:04, the controversial call of a Stetson Bennett fumble recovered by Alabama caused a spike in the rate. However, two massive spikes in the second half passed 1200 comments per minute! There were a few large comment rate spikes during the first half, with the largest being the 40-yard reception which injured Jameson Williams at ~700 comments per minute. Fortunately, the National Championship Game did not disappoint, especially in the 4th quarter! Here's my analysis of approximately 68901 comments (plus however many got removed during the game) across the 1st half thread, halftime thread, and 2nd half thread. ![]() Please let us know in the comments if you have any questions or suggestions.Reddit Rules/FAQ Announcements Filter Twitter Social Media Poll/Pick 'Em Team Guide Awards Merchandise Amazon Referrals Select Flair Submit Game ThreadĪfter running a Python program to capture the rate of comments on the r/CFB game threads during the semifinals, I was left disappointed that neither game was particularly close late. ![]() Steps 1/2/4 will each send you to Reddit to confirm your permissions, but you should only have to do this once (and can revoke it any time).Ĭlaiming Game Threads is fun, helps keep the culture of the best place to talk about College Football organic and user-driven, and is probably the easiest way to get karma on Reddit. ![]() Give the Game Thread tool permission to post on your behalf.Confirm you have 100+ comment karma on /r/CFB (click Refresh Karma). To recap, the full steps to claim a thread: Not all FCS threads have to be claimed, and if some aren't, a top level comment with the box score will be put in the weekly non-D1 thread with the D2/D3/NAIA and other game discussions. A small number of "Featured" threads that we expect high traffic on as well as any FBS threads that don't get claimed will be posted by /u/CFB_Referee. You can claim up to 3 FBS and 3 FCS threads per week (these do not count towards the 3 posts per day limit). So all you have to do this year is click "Claim" on the threads you want to put your name in for, and we'll take care of the rest. In previous years we've offered the ability to edit in text with things like articles about the game and other relevant links, but we found that it was rarely used and overcomplicated things. The new and improved system is streamlined this year, all of it is automatic. Once the game ends, a Postgame Thread will also be posted from your account. All you have to do is authorize the system, which will take care of the rest in the background. Game Threads are posted to /r/CFB an hour before kickoff, and at the time of the post, a random user who claimed the game will be selected to post the thread from their account. The season is upon us, and our new and improved Game Thread site is available at the link above! If you're new to /r/CFB or haven't used the Game Thread generator before, the way it works is that any users with a (small) total amount of comment karma on /r/CFB can claim any D1 game thread each week the week before the game.
